A brand-new update for Remnant 2 has been released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, packed with numerous balance changes, fixes, and improvements.
The patches specific to each console are now available for download and will be automatically downloaded to your console if this feature is enabled. If not, you can manually download the patch through the game update settings. According to the development team, this is the first major update aimed at addressing many of the current major issues, with more updates planned for the future. In fact, there will be an additional update released later this week that addresses balance changes, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements, as mentioned in the official announcement.
The new patch brings performance improvements and aims to resolve crashing issues on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Additionally, on Xbox, the patch also addresses hitching. While both the PS5 and Xbox patches include bug fixes and improvements, an upcoming patch specifically for Xbox players is planned for release later this week. This patch will include additional balance changes, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements that are already included in the PS5 patch.
Xbox players: We’re planning to release another patch later this week to address the balance changes, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements mentioned in the PS5 patch notes. We wanted to at least get out a patch to address the bigger issues for now.

The sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes, released last month, has been receiving positive feedback. In our review, we praised its procedural world, visuals, replayability, co-op mode, and character building.
“Remnant II is a remarkable achievement both technically and artistically, offering an intermittently striking and cutting-edge procedural world that is satisfying to explore,” we wrote in our review. “However, a forgettable story, average gunplay, unexciting loot, and some performance issues prevent this fantastic world from always being enjoyable. Some players, especially those with a regular co-op party, will be drawn into this dark multiverse, but others may find Remnant II only provides occasional moments of excitement amidst frustration.”
