Repairing the Google Pixel 7A is now easier with the introduction of official parts by iFixit, a well-known website that advocates for the right to repair. iFixit has been offering genuine Google Pixel phone parts for over a year, following a trend among phone manufacturers to enhance the accessibility of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) components. You can find the official parts for the Google Pixel 7A in the iFixit store here.
Back in May, when we reviewed the Google Pixel 7A, Allison Johnson described it as the best midrange Android phone for most users. The phone stood out for its solid build quality, impressive camera, and upgraded 90Hz OLED display.
iFixit’s inventory of parts for the Google Pixel 7A includes a replacement digitizer screen ($109.99), rear plastic cover ($44.99), both rear camera modules, adhesive films for various small internal components, a new battery ($39.99), and more. Many of these parts come with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects, except for the battery and adhesive strips which have their exceptions.
However, it’s worth noting that iFixit does not stock other major internal components, such as the logic board or storage. So, if these parts malfunction, iFixit may not be able to assist you.
Taking on the challenge of repairing your own phone can be both educational and entertaining, depending on the device you own. iFixit provides repairability scores for many popular phones in its guides. However, they have not yet evaluated the repairability of the Pixel 7A or any Pixel phone since the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which received scores of six and five out of ten, respectively.
